Across from the iconic Capitol Records building, the Bardot is an intimate venue, offering several rooms to roam around in, placed right behind the Avalon. One of which is host to School Night, a weekly showcase that highlights up-and-coming acts. A mere hour after doors opened, the main room was stuffed with people holding assorted alcoholic beverages, awaiting a night full of performances.
Headlining the night to celebrate the release of their Black Hills EP was LAYNE. The duo is fresh off a short run of tour dates that spanned across the states and ready to gear up for the second leg. With an upcoming show at next month's infamous Emo Nite, LAYNE is ready to take over.
LAYNE's voice, very reminiscent of PVRIS's very own songstress, filled the room and stopped several people dead in their tracks. After singing a slow and sorrow filled ballad, the pair lightened up the mood with their newest single, "Topical" . Without a doubt, the EP is filled with songs that will easily be stuck in your head for at least a week and screaming the choruses at the top of your lungs. We're ready for a full length album if you are, LAYNE.
